Thank you for your interest in Ryedale School. We are a thriving and highly successful secondary school with 590 students. Ours is a small and friendly school, but it is also forward thinking and dynamic. We provide a secure, stable framework in which students can grow academically and socially. In educating students for the challenges of the twenty-first century, we combine the teaching of up-to-date skills and knowledge with core values such as a strong work ethic, consideration for others and honesty. We aim to produce confident and versatile young people capable of rising to any challenge.
In March 2012 our school was inspected under the new rigorous framework by Ofsted, and was awarded an ‘outstanding’ judgement in all areas. This judgement reflects Ryedale School’s position as one of the leading comprehensive schools in North Yorkshire, consistently facilitating high achievement for all students.
We believe every child should have the opportunity to excel and develop their potential to the full. This is achieved not only by high quality teaching and learning, but also by establishing a creative and inclusive atmosphere in which individual talents are nurtured and allowed to flourish. Our extensive range of extra-curricular activities develops skills, interests, relationships and most importantly, the students’ enjoyment of school life and learning.
