Well from 11:00 pm last night, the pupils from Malton and Ryedale Schools began to arrive in preparation for their long journey to Kenya.
The evening started with some team building exercises to help everyone get to know each other before moving on to a full equipment check. Climbing Mount Kenya is no small task and it’s lot harder if you’ve forgotten your hiking boots!
With passports in hand the whole group boarded their coach and headed for London’s Heathrow Airport. By about 06:00 am everyone was in the airport ready to go.
Considering the length of the journey so far and they hadn’t even left the country everyone was very impressed with the ‘Kenya here we come’ cookie Emma had to hand.
