Year 7 Ryedale and Whitby Hockey Champions

Ryedale entered two year 7 teams into the Ryedale and Whitby Hockey Partnership tournament. The A team had a tremendous start by beating Lady Lumleys second team 10-0. It was a great team effort with Lucy Walker, Casey Johnson, Nell Thackray, Polly Mumford and Abi Smith all scoring goals and an impressive 4 goals scored by Verity Fullerton Smith.  They then had a tight game against Malton but ended up with a 2-0 win. Then to secure their place in the semi final, they beat Eskdale 4-0 where Nell Thackray was on top form scoring a hat-trick. Meanwhile Ryedale B team also had a good run and managed to secure a place in the semi finals. The two teams then met in the semi final where Ryedale A won 2-0. They went on to play a close game in the final against Cademon where there was some excellent defending by captain, Morwenna Talling, and Pippa Williamson. The game ended in a 1-0 victory for Ryedale.
